Heragon is an ancient god whose lore and followers date back to Epoch 2 Origins during the reign of the Ancient Exarchs. There were eras in ancient history when his followers outnumbered even that of Oridian, Goddess of the Sun. During the first Reign of Kings he was seen as the most important and revered human deity and was worshipped and feared even by his own followers.
Ancient scripture tells of tales when great battles were lost, when the wrath of Heragon would manifest into deadly earthquakes felt only by those who fought without victory. His followers believed these were warnings from Heragon himself that defeat would not be tolerated.
Heragon’s resurgence during the Dark Age (1225MA) has cultivated a new holy ethos of warriors who are less formal in their divine spirituality but even more devoted to war and conquest. His worshippers maintain what is considered by some to be a morose divine temperament, one centered on conquest and vengeance as much as victory and triumph. Along with their passion for battle, worshippers of Heragon believe deeply in the concept of retribution. That said, most all strive to protect life and would never kill for pleasure. They hold great value in supporting and validating the rule of law, honor and justice. Because of this, depictions of Heragon are often shown next to those of Avanour, the God of Honor & Justice.
