The Wasteland Giants were a living nightmare etched into the history, a relentless plague of flesh and hunger that haunted the dry plains and shadowy forests of central Wildlands.
Description
These 25-foot-tall humanoid monstrosities were said to be the remnants of a forgotten age, cursed and left to roam the world as twisted echoes of what once might have been a proud and mighty race. Their grotesque appearance made them instantly recognizable and universally feared. Their sickly, pale dark grey-green skin made them seem more like giant animated corpses than living beings. They had stout, portly bodies, were barrel-chested, and their small, slanted foreheads and disproportionate heads added to their unnatural, horrifying visage.
Legends claimed that Wasteland Giants were the product of ancient magic gone terribly awry. Some stories told of a long-forgotten kingdom whose rulers had sought to create a race of perfect warriors to conquer the known world. Through the forbidden arts, they infused human stock with the essence of giants and dark spirits of the void. While they succeeded in creating immense beings of unparalleled strength, the process corrupted their minds and bodies, turning them into primal, savage predators with an insatiable appetite for flesh. The kingdom that had spawned them was quickly devoured by its own creations, leaving behind nothing but ruins and the roaming horrors that would later be named Wasteland Giants.

These creatures were not mere brutes, however. While they were of low intelligence, they demonstrated a surprising degree of cunning in their primal instincts. They were known to fashion crude weapons from whatever materials they could scavenge. Enormous clubs, jagged axes, and terrifying wooden claws were their tools of destruction, enabling them to shred through flesh and bone with horrifying efficiency. Some witnesses claimed that the giants even lined their crude weapons with the sharpened bones of their victims, a grotesque and macabre touch that only added to their terror.
The behavior of the Wasteland Giants was equally disturbing. They were not content to simply hunt for sustenance. They seemed driven by an endless, almost mindless bloodlust, often killing far more than they could eat and leaving trails of carnage across the Wildlands. Entire villages were abandoned at the mere rumor of a Wasteland Giant nearby. Farmers would flee with their families, leaving behind crops, livestock, and homes rather than risk a confrontation with the towering beasts.
Despite their immense size, Wasteland Giants were surprisingly stealthy in dense forests, their twisted forms blending into the dark shadows of ancient trees. Many an unwary traveler or caravan met its doom at the hands of a stalking giant that would suddenly emerge with terrifying speed, roaring its guttural cries of hunger and fury.
Over centuries, these creatures became the stuff of dark legends. Some cultures believed them to be divine punishments, unleashed by angry gods upon the wicked. Others whispered that they were the guardians of cursed treasures hidden deep within the Wildlands. Whatever the truth, one fact remained indisputable: where the Wasteland Giants roamed, death and terror followed close behind.
