Atharion Dara

The Atharion dara were the most common Dara race to inhabit the Wildlands. Like all Dara, their lineage could be traced back to the Idës Pantheon, specifically the windswept elemental plane of Air. Yet, their kind was uniquely touched by the Ethereal Plane, a bond that shaped their powers and culture. Atharian dara possessed the innate ability to momentarily “blend with the air,” teleporting to a visible location, and to summon a misty fog that obscured the battlefield. These abilities, inherited from their dual-plane essence, made them both revered and feared.

Description

The Atharion Dara were the tallest among their kin, standing as pillars of strength and agility. They valued their physical prowess, honing their bodies as a testament to their heritage. Their hair shimmered in hues of blue, symbolizing their connection to the skies, while their skin bore a light beige tone. Their eyes, either silver or blue, seemed to reflect the ethereal winds themselves.

Wind Jaunt

Through their ties to the Plane of Air and the Ethereal Plane, Atharion dara could momentarily vanish and reappear within their line of sight, a gift that gave them a strategic edge in both battle and exploration.

Fog Cloud

With a mere thought, Atharion dara could summon a dense, misty fog. This manifestation, though ethereal in origin, was tangible and malleable, often used to disorient foes or conceal their movements.

Athletics (Strength and Agility)

Their muscularity and agility were unmatched. The Atharion dara often competed among themselves in feats of strength and acrobatics, considering such contests a sacred homage to their ancestors’ resilience.

Fearless

They were known for their near-reckless bravery, an aversion to fear that extended even to magic-induced terror. This fearlessness was both a blessing and a curse, driving them to confront dangers most would avoid.

Daos Sword

The Daos sword, a massive two-handed blade with a distinctive teardrop shape, was their favored weapon. This design allowed for sweeping strikes that mimicked the cutting winds of their homeland.

History & Homeland

The Dara race emerged during the early Epochs of Eos, their ancestors descending from the elemental plane of Idés. Atharion dara were among the first to establish settlements in the Wildlands, particularly in the rugged mountains of Zor. They thrived in the region of Andranas, near the southeastern border of Antara. There, they constructed Arenyar, a grand city that became their capital and the heart of their culture.

Arenyar stood as a testament to Atharion ingenuity, its architecture blending seamlessly with the mountainous terrain and its spires rising like gusts frozen in stone. Though built by Atharion dara, the city later became a hub for other races, including Knite Dara, Fyreburhl, Jurell, and Humans. Even in modern times, Arenyar retained its reputation as a city of strength, freedom, and the ever-present whisper of the wind.
