In the Wildlands, from a vast expanse of wilderness untouched by modern civilization, there emerged a remarkable race of humanoids known as the Earthen Jurell.
Description
Standing at an average height of 5 feet 5 inches, these lean, human-like creatures bore the physical traits that set them apart from others. Their copper-hued skin, which varied in shades from dark bronze to light ochre, reflected their deep connection to the land. Like all jurell, their ears were pointed but grow out horizontally from their heads. Like all Jurell, they did not grow hair on their head. Their eyes, either a striking and silver of bronze-gold, revealed the wisdom that dwelled within their souls. In addition, many Earthen jurell had brown birth markings on their skin, often seen on their faces.
The Earthen jurell were one of three distinct jurell races of the Wildlands, alongside their Ashen and Lunara jurell cousins. While the Ashen jurell shared much in common with the Earthen, the Lunara jurell were more distant, with their connection to the moon and stars diverging from the earthbound nature of the Earthen Jurell. The history of the Earthen Jurell could be traced back through centuries, even to the mythic Origins II, a time shrouded in mystery and legend. According to their ancient lore, the Earthen Jurell had been born from the very soil of the earth, molded from clay and rock by the hands of the primordial forces that governed the world.
One of the most remarkable traits of the Earthen Jurell was their natural resilience. Their tough, durable skin acted as a form of natural armor, granting them protection in battle and making them formidable in any physical confrontation. This durability was not the only gift the earth had bestowed upon them. The Earthen Jurell had a unique ability to Mold Earth at will, a skill that allowed them to shape and manipulate the ground beneath their feet. Whether creating shelter, forming barriers, or crafting weapons, they could bend the very earth to their desires, a power that marked them as truly one with the land.

Beyond their physical abilities, the Earthen jurell were revered for their wisdom and deep connection to the natural world. They were not a race that sought conquest or expansion, preferring instead to live in harmony with their surroundings. To them, the land was sacred, a living entity deserving of respect and care. They practiced low-level druidic cantrips, simple but powerful spells that allowed them to communicate with nature, and estanlish magical connections to the earth itself. This affinity for the natural world made them excellent hunters and gatherers. They were skilled foragers, able to find sustenance in even the most barren of landscapes, and their craftsmanship in creating wooden weapons—staffs, bows, and hunting spears—was unmatched.
The Earthen Jurell had a close relationship with the Ashen Jurell, who, like them, held a deep respect for the earth and its power. While the Ashen jurell were more attuned to the harsh, fiery aspects of the land, the Earthen Jurell embodied its gentler, nurturing side. Together, these two races formed a close-knit bond, often trading knowledge and skills to better protect their lands and people. Despite their differences, both races held to a similar ethos, valuing the balance of nature and the importance of living in tune with the world around them.
Although the Earthen jurell were typically good-natured and peaceful, they were not a race to be underestimated. In times of need, they would rise to defend their home with unyielding determination. Their mastery of natural weapons and the ability to shape the land into formidable defenses made them a force to be reckoned with, especially when the Wildlands came under threat from external forces or the dangerous beasts that roamed the region.
In their villages, nestled within the heart of dense forests or along the slopes of rolling hills, the Earthen jurell celebrated life and the beauty of the natural world. Festivals in honor of the earth’s bounty were common, with feasts, music, and dancing continuing long into the night. They revered the ancient trees, the flowing rivers, and the mountains that towered above them, believing that these natural landmarks held the spirits of their ancestors, who watched over them from afar.
The story of the Earthen jurell was one of resilience, harmony, and deep-rooted wisdom. Their legacy, passed down through generations, was forever tied to the land from which they had been born, a connection that would endure as long as the Wildlands remained wild and untamed.
