This powerful voodoo spell was able to place a target in a death-like, catatonic state within an ethereal demiplane. While in this demiplane the target is able to see the plane it came from in greyscale and move within it as it normally would.  The target cannot communicate with others on the material plane and they cannot see or interact with the target.

However, while in the demiplane the target is able to see and interact with the spirits of all those who have died in the past 7 days within a certain distance of them. Its interaction with these spirits could only communicate simple ideas, for example, What is your name? Where are you from? How did you die? When did you die? Who killed you? What killed you? etc. If the spirit knew the answer in real life, it was able to reply with simple details.

The spells true power lied in the fact that its radius moved as the caster moved. In addition, the caster could choose to remain in the demiplane for the duration and could move anywhere normally, undetectable by those on the material plane.
